We are currently trading from the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside in our brand new purpose built premises, to provide both outside catering and weekday school meals.
Please read our story below to see how we started our family run business.
Our Story
Jamie and Anna, a husband and wife team, previously ran the King’s Head public house in Collingham for 15 years. As the head chef at GINGA, Jamie has over 20 years experience in the professional food industry, bringing originality, creativity and high quality to all of our dishes.
Whilst they were running the pub an opportunity arose to help out a local primary school, after their previous supplier failed to deliver the children’s school meals. This was where the school catering began, the business quickly expanded to three and then five schools with the company reputation fl urishing alongside. The government backed UIFSM (Universal Infant Free School Meals) programme for free school meals for every child in Key Stage 1 from September 2014, meant numbers continued to grow within the schools.
Alongside the running of the Kings Head and delivering daily school meals, Jamie and Anna turned their hands to the world of outside catering. In the local area of their thriving pub their reputation went before them as local people used the couples decades of experience to cater for private events. This led them to branch out into an extensive range of catering services, from weddings and buffets to private dinner parties. Please see the relevant section of the website for more information about the services we offer.
Jamie and Anna soon realised their future was within school meals and outside catering. Leaving the pub trade behind them and purchasing an industrial unit in nearby Saxilby, they set the foundations for their new business – GINGA Catering.
They both look forward to spending many more years growing their business and providing first class catering services. The GINGA catering diary already has several bookings for 2024, so be quick to drop us a line so we can pencil you in!
